Sky Cinema pop-up channel promo
Following a winning pitch on a different project, Leah Chander and I were awarded the chance to work together again as part of Sky Cinema Christmas’ campaign and create the promo for 2019’s pop-up channel.
It’s a difficult challenge to promote films that people watch every single year and keep them feeling fresh and exciting but it was a challenge we welcomed with open arms. Despite working on this from August, we wanted to bring a warm and exciting anticipation of Christmas to the audiences.
We used the sparkle as our driving force through the spot, travelling from the advent calendar, that was being used on the wider campaign, through all our favourite Christmas content to bring that little bit of extra magic to your screen. The sparkle took a journey through all the Christmas movies people love, watching the characters as they prepared and anticipated the arrival of Christmas.
What I especially love about this spot was the intricate work done by MMMultiply on the title art tree. In range spots with a high volume of content it’s often difficult to land all the titles in a stylistic way so we made sure to use the space on the Christmas tree to showcase just how much content Sky Cinema had this year and really use every Christmas motif to it’s fullest. The style of the tree title decorations really bring a classic, traditional, almost Bavarian, Christmas element to the spot which makes it feel all that more festive.
